Results of CATCHING JORDAN arc contest!

Thank you all for entering my contest! I used random.org to choose the winners. I’ll contact you all by email.

Prize #1) An arc of CATCHING JORDAN!

WINNER: Shalena, who loves playing basketball and watching football. Her favorite badass woman is basketball coach Pat Summit.

Prize #2) A critique of a first chapter by my wonderful agent Sara Megibow!

WINNER: J. Thomas Ross, whose favorite sport is football and favorite badass woman is Lady Gaga. (Miranda approves greatly of Gaga)

Prize #3) A Barnes and Noble gift card for $25.

WINNER: Heather M. O’Connor, whose favorite sport is soccer. Her favorite badass woman is Canadian soccer player Christine Sinclair.

Prize #4) A critique of 20 pages of a YA novel by YA author Sarah Skilton, whose debut novel BRUISED comes out in 2012!

WINNER: Melanie Jacobson, whose favorite sports are football and basketball, and her favorite badass woman is Lisa Ling. (Miranda remembers Lisa Ling being badass on Channel 1 in junior high. This means Miranda is getting old.)

Prize #5) A query critique from YA author Jennifer Shaw Wolf, whose debut novel BREAKING BEAUTIFUL comes out in 2012!

WINNER: Joe Selby, whose favorite sports are hockey and kickball. His fave badass woman is Hadassah, later known as Esther, queen of Persia.

Prize #6) A copy of PLAYING HURT by Holly Schindler and a copy of HEAD GAMES by Keri Mikulski. Two sporty books I’ve read recently and loved.

WINNER: Anna, whose favorite sport is basketball. Her favorite badass woman is JK Rowling.

Prize #7) A copy of JELLICOE ROAD by Melina Marchetta. It really has nothing to do with football or sports or anything, but I love the book and think the main guy character is pretty hot. That’s a good reason for a prize, right?

WINNER: Sarah, whose favorite sports are soccer and basketball. Her favorite badass woman is Katniss!

  • Congratulations to the winners! I’m looking forward to reading Catching Jordan. The release date feels like decades away 🙂

  • Well, woo-freaking-hoo! Yay!

And I remember Lisa Ling on Channel 1 from when I was doing my student teaching. I am officially older. There are some things I don’t like to win. I don’t like to win at being older. I am delighted to win a critique. Yay!

  • This is a delayed thank you! I entered your contest for the heck of it, never expecting to win anything. To win the critique from Sara Megibow absolutely floored me. And it was perfect timing for me because I had just finished my YA sci-fi novel. So I sent in my first thirty pages. Sara loved them and asked for the full! I am so excited! No words can express how grateful I am for this opportunity. Thank you so much, Miranda!
