Frequently Asked Questions
Q: “Will there be a sequel to CATCHING JORDAN?”
A: I’m not sure! All of my young adult books are currently set in the same “universe” in Middle Tennessee. All of my books that are being published, plus any planned books, will have characters that show up from book to book. This means that characters from CATCHING JORDAN are in STEALING PARKER, and characters from both CATCHING JORDAN and STEALING PARKER are in THINGS I CAN’T FORGET.
I won’t say that a sequel is off the table. Who knows?
Q: “Will there be a CATCHING JORDAN movie?”
A: The film rights have been purchased by Nick Wechsler Productions. This doesn’t mean that a movie will actually be made, but I am hopeful! Read more about the film deal here.
Q: “How many books will be in the Hundred Oaks series?”
A: As of right now, there will be at least six: Catching Jordan, Stealing Parker, Things I Can’t Forget, Racing Savannah, and two untitled books, one of which is tentatively scheduled to release in June 2014.
Q: What is the order of the Hundred Oaks books?
A: They are companion novels so you can read them in any order, but I suggest this order: Catching Jordan, Stealing Parker, Things I Can’t Forget, Racing Savannah.
Q: Who gets married in RACING SAVANNAH (Dec. 2013)?
A: You’ll have to read the book to find out.
Q: “How long did it take you to write CATCHING JORDAN? When was it written?”
A: It took me about six months to write the first draft, and I edited for another 6-7 months. It was written during 2009-2010.
Q: “Will there be a sequel to STEALING PARKER?”
A: No, but Parker and Will are lead characters in my companion novel, THINGS I CAN’T FORGET (March 1, 2013). Jordan Woods may or may not throw a big party in this book.
And you’ll get to see what’s going on with Jordan and Henry and Parker and Will in RACING SAVANNAH (coming in late 2013).
Q: “Are your characters based on anyone you know in real life?”
A: Nope! But you know that scene in CATCHING JORDAN where Jordan and Henry raise the fake baby for home ec class? We had to do that at my junior high. I found it so funny that the big buff football players had to take care of fake babies!
Q: “What are some of your favorite books that I might like?”
A: Some of my favorites are The Truth About Forever, This Lullaby, and Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen; Such a Rush and Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols; Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler; Two-Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt; Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta; Ditched by Robin Mellom; Looking for Alaska by John Green; and The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. Also, check out my Goodreads shelf for more suggestions!
Q: “Did you play football in high school?”
A: Oh God no! I was very short and would’ve gotten killed on the field. I am in awe of girls who play any sport.
